BASIC HISTORY
This history pertains mainly to the first generation characters.
When Old Deuteronomy was still the Jellicle Leader, Munkustrap was the Jellicle Protector. Alonzo was the Jellicle Overseer; George was 'in training' at this point. Rum Tum Tugger was still the Curious Cat, Bustopher Jones was still the Cat About Town.
Bombalurina and Macavity were both born in the Warehouse. Macavity, naturally, was the first born to a tom named Mordechai. Mordechai was the slightly twisted and demented brother of Old Deuteronomy who left the tribe when he was taken off as the Jellicle Protector. Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer were given to Mordechai by their mother as payment for protection. They were trained as nimble thieves and 'runners'; messengers of sorts.
Old Deuteronomy ended up with more than his fair share of kittens. The most well known are Munkustrap, Rum Tum Tugger, Coricopat, Tantomile and Electra. He also had an older daughter named Avisae. She was a beautiful silver and grey tabby with some gold stripes along her arms and back. She was older than Munkustrap by only 2 years. She was murdered by Mordechai and her body was taken back to the Junkyard by Macavity. This is the main reason for the feud that rages between the silver Jellicle Leader and the Napoleon of Crime. Although Macavity had nothing to do with Avisae's death, Munkustrap saw the ginger tom with his sister's blood all over him and came to the wrong conclusion. Macavity found this as an incredible insult and holds that against Munkustrap.
Demeter was brought to the Warehouse later, she was about 18 when she arrived. She was treated with care and respect by Macavity as he tried to coerce her into becoming his mate. He never loved her but he wanted to possess her. When she arrived at the Warehouse she had become his (since Mordechai was dead now). After she was forced to mate with him several times with no results, she was put into her chambers and was told that she was not allowed to leave it. Bombalurina took pity on her and went to visit her. Although the scarlet queen was harsher than she is now, slowly the terrified golden queen softened her heart. After Zephonie was born, Demeter was afraid of what might happen to her daughter if she let her grow up here. With the help of Bombalurina, and the nimble thieves Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer, Demeter secreted Zephonie out of the Warehouse to the Jellicle tribe where Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer had developed some contacts.
(Please note, the histories for the characters mentioned above will likely have more detail and be describing the history from after this point)
