BOMBALURINA It was with a groan and a very long stretch that Bombalurina managed to get out of bed that morning. When had her bones begun to ache so badly? She used to be so agile, and now it seemed her age had caught up with her. Still, many others her age didn't seem to have the issues she did. She left the car, which she called home, and made her way into the Junkyard proper. There were quite a few cats out already, but she pondered a moment about who she should approach. Sitting in the sun, alone for a while, sounded like a good option... She could see who came to her.
Her decision made, Bombalurina snuck a little way around the car, over to an old mattress near the clearing, where she lay back down, comfortable.
MUNKUSTRAP
The friendly smile he was giving Mistoffelees turned into a deeply concerned frown. "A bad dream..." he said aloud, but softly, thinking to himself. A bad dream from the tribe's magical cat was perhaps the worst of omens. "And you remember no details at all? Something bad..." he continued, mulling it over in his mind. "I wonder if anyone else has sensed some bad omen-- Cassandra, or Coricopat, perhaps? If it's Macavity, surely Demeter--" he stopped himself, and his gray brow furrowed in worry. Surely Demeter would tell him if she'd felt any looming danger from Macavity. Then again, it wasn't as if she had powers-- in the past, she'd only known when he was near, not when he planned to be.
He looked back to the tuxedo tom. "Keep mulling over the dream, Mistoffelees, and see if anything comes to you after some concentration," he said, "but don't tell many others about the 'feeling'-- Tantomile and Coricopat, I think, and Cassandra... no one else needs to know until we've had time to discuss."
ZEPHONIE
Zephonie was surprised when Valentine so quickly asked Amarantha to the ball. Not that he didn't think Amarantha was a good choice for him (she knew little of these things, anyway), or that she expected Amarantha to decline, but because she'd never known Valentine to be particularly adventurous. Though he was Tugger's son, he'd always been much calmer than his siblings. She smiled at him, and wished that she could one day have such a streak of bravery.
When Amarantha accepted, her smile didn't fade. It was comforting to Zephonie, seeing other cats be as awkward as she often was. It was these cats, the ones who didn't exactly fit the mold, that she was most comfortable around, and who she adored the most. It made her feel less strange, and almost like she really belonged.
"Thanks really wonderful," she said, very happy for her friends, but then seemed unable to think of anything else to say. She felt extremely awkward, suddenly, being there with the pair who were now dates. Would it be rude to leave them alone, or is that what she was expected to do now. She shifted a few times, unable to commit to a decision. Instead, she simply smiled vaguely, hoping she wouldn't look too odd.

Valentine
At first he thought she wouldn't accept, When she told him of her anxienty issues, he just smiled at her. "It's quite alright. " He said to her as he awaited her response. He let out a sigh of relief when she accepted. He looked at Zeppy who looked nervous. He climbed off the pipe ans sat down beside her. " Hey, why don't you and Mina come with us? like a group date?! " He asked her. It was a spur of the moment thought but it was worth trying.

GEORGE
George sat all the way up, frowning. He'd been concerned about his young friend, especially recently. "Are you sure?" He asked Teo.
He wiped sleep from his eyes, still groggy. He was too tired to tell anything from Teodor's voice or manner. He wasn't quite awake enough yet to be very perceptive. "Do you want me to get anything for you, some water or something?"
AVISAE
Avi was completely distracted by Sommer's words. Bad things? Coming here? A slight chill ran down her spine. She surveyed the yard, more alert now. She didn't see anything out of place.
She looked down at the caramel colored queen and saw the tears filling her eyes. "Oh," Avisae said, immediately sympathetic. "Honey, no," she assured Sommer, putting an arm around her. "You're not going crazy!" She didn't know what was going on or how she could help the younger queen. She chewed on the inside of her lip, deliberating a moment before speaking as she thought over her words. "Have you told anyone else this?"
ETCETERA
Etcetera had passed the early morning in an almost dreamlike state. She'd lightly groomed herself, tidied up her den, folded her blankets - never really concentrating on what she was doing. Finally, she surveyed the interior of her part of the car and decided that there was nothing left to do, her eyes mostly blank. It didn't matter much anyway.
She slipped out of the car window, into the yard. Ahh. The sun was pretty nice right here, the way it streamed against the car...She slid down the side of the car and curled up in warm sunlight. That felt wonderful...Etcetera closed her eyes.

(Cupio)
Chuckling, the brown tuxedo tom nodded. "Oh, trust me, I have those mornings as well. I would have loved to have slept in a bit this morning, but science beckons!" He exclaimed, raising his eyebrows as he grinned from ear to ear. To be rather honest, Cupio didn't think he ever got enough sleep. It would probably catch up to him eventually, but now that he was young and in his prime, sleep was just something he didn't think about. Sure, he loved it, but he didn't feel as if he needed it.
"Your mate still snoozing away?" Cupio asked, shifting the bag on his shoulder. It blew his mind that some of his generation already had mates, but hey, he guessed it was about time to start finding them. Props to Adriel for already snagging one.

MISTOFFELEES
Misto listened patiently as Munkustrap worked out in his head the information Misto had just told him. He sighed, trying to bring back any sort of detail from the dream he had. Closing his eyes he shook his head,
"I really wish I could tell you more, Munk." he stated with a slight tone of hopelessness, "but I just can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll keep trying though." he smiled awkwardly, "And don't worry. I won't tell anyone. Maybe you could go talk to Demeter while I try to find the twins?" he looked at the concerned expression on the leader's face and he kicked himself silently for not being able to remember anything else.
AMARANTHA
Amarantha smiled at Zeph and Val - her new date to the ball - and did her best to push aside any feelings of anxiety that were left over,
"Oh, you two must come with us!" she said with her usual cheerful tone, and scooted closer to the other two cats, "It would be so much fun." she smiled at Zeph, almost recognizing the feeling of awkwardness that her friend was feeling. Picking up on other people's emotions seemed to be something Mantha was naturally good at, and something that she secretly prided herself on.
ALONZO
Alonzo looked from tom to tom, his eyes slightly squinted, as they all spoke to one another. He was having a hard time concentrating on what they were saying. After realizing that he had missed almost everything they had said, he closed his eyes tightly and rubbed them, letting his head fall a bit. He really needed to sleep, for a long time, but whenever he tried he just tossed and turned.
Eventually he opened his eyes and looked back at his company, his eyes feeling red and sore. He smiled awkwardly,
"You will all have to forgive me. I seem to be pretty absent minded right now. What are we talking about?"

ZEPHONIE
Warmth spread to her face, nearly blushing at her friends' suggestion. For a moment, she felt quite bad about imposing-- she hadn't wanted to make their night as a couple any less special... but that was why she cared for both of them so much, wasn't it? Because they were the kind of cats who didn't like to see her alone.
So instead of worrying, which was quite unusual for her, she beamed at them. "Oh, I bet Mina would love that," she said, cheerfully. This way was certainly better...
A sudden vision flashed in her mind. "Val, you're going to look like the most popular tom at the ball," she laughed, and she imagined the scene. "You're going to look like you have three dates, after all! Ohhh Callista will be jealous, I bet." She kept laughing, nearly having to hold her sides. It wasn't such a good or clever joke, but Zephonie laughed anyway. It was times like this, with people like these, that she realize who she was. "Your dad is going to be so proud!"
She hoped she wasn't hurting anyone's feelings in saying this, but at the moment, she really couldn't get over just how funny it was to her.

Cade:[/u]
Cade observed his half sister carefully, and when he determined nothing was really wrong with her, he relaxed slightly. Though he doubted she could tell he had relaxed, his stance still seemed to give off attitude. "Good to hear. So, hate to ask the cliched question, but you have any plans for the upcoming ball?" Cade spoke in a bit of a gruff manner, since idle chit-chat wasn't exactly his strong suit. Still Arizona loved him despite his obvious shortcomings.
Jemima:[/u]
Jemima didn't get very far, before she saw her youngest son approach her. Kiyoshi was grinning from ear to ear, and Jemima couldn't help but to smile back at him. "Hello Ki!" She opened her arms, and pulled Kiyoshi into a very motherly hug.
Teodors:[/u]
He stiffened, hoping George didn't realize something was wrong. However seeing George wipe sleep from his eyes and yawn, he realized it was just an instinct that George asked a second time. George hadn't realized, relaxing he shook his head, falling into his facade pretty easily. "No, I'm good. I'll eat something later. Anything you want?" He grinned, the light bouncy tone restored into his voice. He was already out of bed, bouncing on the balls of his feet, grinning. "I can get you something, I'm wide awake you know." With Teo's distract-able mind, he went wide eyed,"Ouuu is this new?"[/b] He grabbed the corner of the blanket, off of George's bed and George to look at it closer.
Xochipilli:[/u]
Xo's head perked up from her daily cleaning when she heard someone call her name. It was odd to her that her first reaction was 'I hope that's not Narcius looking for me.' When she saw Azrael there, her eyes softened and she gave him a small smile. She liked the grey tom enough, though they didn't know each other that well, of course neither did she know Narcius. When he had asked her to be his mate, of course she knows now that she accepted for the wrong reasons. But she had always thought Narcius would eventually want to be intimate with her and start a family, and even kissing was awkward. She motioned Azrael to come to her, anyone was better to talk to in the morning, then Narcius. "Hello."

Arizona
" No.. not yet anyway. Its too much of a hassle. What about you? I saw you last week with Cissa." She laughed a little. Hopefully he knew she was playing with him. she looked around the yard. Not many cats were up. At least Diva-Doll (Cao) wasn't up. Ari didn't feel like dealing with her again. Zona's tail swayed back and forth lazily.
Kiyoshi
Yoshi nuzzled his mom's chest purring as loud as he could (which wasn't loud at all) and hugged her back. " Mornin' Momma." He said quietly. he loved her hugs.

(Quaxo)
In his youth, Quaxo had been one of those late risers. He would stay up late, enjoy the company of his mates, his friends, the city, etc, and sleep until the sun was settled in the sky. It was a life style his parent’s had frequently nagged him about, but then he didn’t care. Now though, it was rare if the tuxedo tom ever slept past 8 am. He guess his age and having to raise kittens did it to him.
Licking his lips, Quaxo strolled into the junkyard. Mistoffelees, his brother and house mate had risen before him, and as his eyes began to examine the junkyard as they did every morning, he found his brother in deep conversation with Munkustrap. Seems important… Quaxo thought to himself as he eyed them warily, best I didn‘t disturb. Quaxo usually wasn’t best suited for important matters, and so, he left such things along.
As his eyes neared the end of it’s typical round, a familiar figure caught his attention. Etcetera, one of his mates was seemingly enjoying the morning sun, and although their recent past hadn’t been the most cheery, Quaxo found himself wanting to talk to her; to be with her. Clearing his throat, the black and white tom walked over to his mostly white mate and sat down beside her, smiling despite the semi-awkwardness of the situation.
“Mornin’ Cettie.”
(Themis) - STILL ALONE.
(Caoimhe)
My my, Cao was beginning to make this early morning thing a routine. Of course the pearly white princess much preferred getting as much beauty sleep as possible; however, now that Cao had a reason for going to the junkyard, she preferred getting there as soon as she possibly could. This didn’t mean she rushed getting ready; oh no, it was quite the contrary. Cao made herself look as beautiful as remotely possible; not for herself, but for her date, and most likely mate to be. She was after all (as to be mentioned as many times as possible) the daughter of Rum Tum Tugger and Victoria - being gorgeous just ran through her veins. Nevertheless, Cao found that enhancing her natural beauty was something she enjoyed doing, and she was most likely obsessed with it. For that reason, little miss snow white was thankful that the junkyard had an old mirror stashed near the oven.
Caoimhe eagerly approached the mirror once she had entered the junkyard, and with dainty ballerina poses, the white queen examined herself over. She was to make sure that before she saw Ody there was to be no speck of dirt or grime on her fur. She also would see to it that no piece of fur was out of place and that her gold and silver rein stone collar was sparkling beautifully.
Satisfied with her appearance, Cao smiled and turned around, looking around for Ody and or anyone she felt like talking to.

ETCETERA
Etcetera had been absorbing the sunlight, enjoying the peace of the morning as she sat. She felt very serene in her little patch of sunshine, if perhaps a little lonely. Then she heard a voice as someone sat down beside her. Jerking her eyes open, she saw Quaxo there, smiling at her. "Oh," she said, straightening up a little, feeling flustered. "Good morning, Quaxo," Etce smiled shyly back.
She reached a paw up to brush her headfur from her forehead, knowing she looked a mess just then. She hadn't completely finished grooming herself that morning. "Uhm...how are you today?" Etcetera asked her mate after a moment. She felt so awkward!
GEORGE
"Hmm?" George asked. "Oh, no I'm fine. I'll find something in a bit." If he had any doubts about whether Teo was really okay, he was completely convinced by the bounciness of the young tom. "Th-thanks though," he yawned, stretching. Ah, it was nice and warm under his blanket -
Teodors suddenly whipped the blanket off of the older tom. George swiped for it, but missed, loosing his balance. "What? I guess so," he shrugged. "I found it the other day." He stared longingly at the soft cloth in his roommate's hands. Oh, well. He couldn't go back to bed now. Wide awake, he sat back up, running a paw through his headfur. "Any plans for the day, Teo?" He asked a little absently as he groomed his face.
NARCIUS
Narcius had had a bit of a rude awakening when a reckless bird had fluttered into his den, chirping loudly until he woke up. Annoyed, Narcius had reached out and made a swipe at the bird, claws unsheathed. Well, at least he'd gotten a lovely breakfast out of the early morning wake-up call. He spent a bit of time (a fair bit) grooming himself and making himself presentable, before poking his nose out into the yard. Nice day, good crowd in the yard.
Narci looked around to see just who was about. He caught sight of his mate and felt a slight twinge of guilt as he glanced away, ducking his head, and trying to make himself look inconspicuous. Well, she seemed to be involved talking to Azrael anyway. Looking around for someone else to talk to (before Xo caught sight of him), he saw his sister and grinned.
Narcius sauntered over to stand beside her. He scooped a small handful of dirt before reaching her. "Good morning, sister mine!" He greeted her cheerfully, bending to kiss her cheek. Very purposefully, he put an arm around her and patted her shoulder, letting the dirt fall onto her clean white coat. "Oh, God!" he gasped. "I'm so sorry!"

(Quaxo)
“I’m well, and yourself? A few sore muscles here and there, but that just comes with age I suppose,” he said, cocking a sideways smile as he scratched the back of his neck. “Your looking good this morning, I mean, you always do, but yea, you know.” Quaxo swore that he use to be far more smooth than he currently was when it came to talking to queens, or in this case, his mates. The black tuxedo could have bopped himself in the forehead when his compliment hadn’t came out in the way in which he had intended it to.
Shifting his body weight, Quaxo wet his lips and tried to look completely comfortable despite the current situation. It had just been a while since he and Cettie had had a decent conversation and all. “How is our girl doing hun?” He asked, brown eyes glancing her way. “ I haven’t spoken to her in the past couple of days.”
(Caoimhe)
“Morning Narc….UGH!” Cao screeched, jerking out of her brother’s grasp once the dirt hit her shoulder fur. “You little…ugh. Really Narcius, really?! Do you enjoy being a royal pain in the butt, or does it come naturally, hmm?” She asked, her nose twitching up in annoyance as she began cleaning the bit of dirt from her shoulder. Of all times to be spiteful and annoying, did it have to be now? Cao knew that this was the norm for Narcius, but could he just cut his gorgeous little sister some slack? No…because he was Narcius, and because he was jealous of her. She knew it.
Huffing, Cao’s lower lip stuck out in a bit of a pout and she cut her honey brown eyes at him. “Of all ways to show affection towards your sister. A hug or a kiss would suffice you know.” She stated matter-o-factly, finally getting the last bit of dirt out of her pearly white fur. The reason Cao didn’t get TO upset with him was simply because she actually liked him. Sure, she wasn’t as close with him as she was Cassius and Callista, but he was definitely tons better than her other siblings. For that reason, Cao cut Narcius some slack.
Nevertheless, she couldn’t let him get away with his little prank so easily, could she? Oh heavens no. As she turned to face him completely, Cao swiped a paw over the top of the nearest crate, collecting a bit of dust and mud from it’s surface. She then smiled and leaned in, curling her arms around Narcius’s waist and patting his back in “affection.” “See?” she cooed, giggling slightly, “isn’t this so much better?”

(SOMMER) - tempting for Msterope
“No…” Sommer croaked, running an arm across her eyes in her attempt to wipe away any stray tears. “I don’t know who to tell. I mean, it’s not as if anyone would take me seriously. I’m not psychic, nor do I have any magical powers. It is just a feeling is all…” The cream colored queen took in a deep shaky sigh as she glanced up at Avisae, and she scooted into the older queen’s embrace. At least Avisae didn’t think she was crazy. Avisae was sweet like that though, and for that reason, Sommer found it easy to talk to the silver queen.
“What do you think I should do?” Sommer asked, nervously nibbling at her lower lip. “Should I forget about it, or should I actually, you know, tell someone?”

AZRAEL A sense of pride welled up in the toms white chest when the tabby queen smiled at him. Yes, I can make her smile he thought victoriously. He moved a little closer to where Xo was sitting. He yawned and covered his mouth with a paw. Azzy paused for a moment, pretending to be taking in the sunrise, when in reality he just had no idea what to say. "Are you looking forward to the ball? If the weather stays like this it should be great," he said enthusiastically. Wow, the weather, that's not impersonal at all the young tom thought sarcastically to himself. "Maybe me and Avisae could meet up with you and Narcius there," he added, congratulating himself internally for saving the conversation.
TANTOMILE
The calico queen had been awake for about half an hour. She sat in the back seat of the old car, reading one of her treasured books. Mile soon got tired of this, as she had read all of her books at least ten times. She hid the book away in the compartment on the car door. The sleek queen sat up to check her headfur in the cracked rearview mirror. She considered waking up her brother, but decided against it. Her twin was snoring, and he only snored when he was in very deep sleep. Tantomile gave her brothers sleeping form a loving look before jumping out the broken window of the car. She stretched, enjoying the warm morning air. Despite her stretching, Tanto had a feeling in her spine, a kind of tingling. This usually only happened when she knew something big was coming. The elder queen dismissed it as being excited for the ball and began looking around the yard. The calico mystic spotted her two mates and her daughter. She decided to go visit with Themis and then talk with Misto and Munkustrap. She strolled over to Themis, a calm smile on her face. "Good morning Themis dear," She said in her normal knowing tone. She gave her daughter a light hug, savoring the moments she had with her beloved little Themis.

(Themis)
Themis’s lips curled back into a bright smile as her mother approached, and the teen eagerly returned Tantomile’s hug. The last time she had spoken with her mother was last week, and at that point the young magician hadn’t been in the best of moods. Sure, Themis was rarely ever what one would consider perky, but at least today she seemed to be in a good spirits.
“Morning momma. How are you?” She asked, pulling away so that she was a couple of inches away now. Themis had received her father’s height, and so the tuxedo princess had to pier up at her mother slightly. “Daddy is here,” she continued, motioning towards Mistoffelees. “He is talking to Munkustrap though, so I didn’t go and greet him yet.” Her father and Munkustrap seemed to be having an indepth conversation, and Themis figured it would have been rude to barge in.

MUNKUSTRAP
With a nod of understanding, Munkustrap placed his hand on Mistoffelees' shoulder. "Don't let that concern you, Misto," he reassured the younger tom. "Any warning, no matter how vague, is better than no warning at all." Still, the soft, polite, smile was superficial-- the Jellicle Leader was full of worry.
"Thank you for telling me, Misto," he said, pulling his hand away and looking back into the Junkyard. "I've got some patrolling to do... for good measure, I'll set someone to check the yard's parameter for weak points..." his thoughts kept trailing off, and, at risk of confusing the black and white tom, he simply nodded and turned away.
After a quick move and glance around the yard, he knew precisely who to give his task to. He raised a paw in greeting as he approached Etcetera and Quaxo. "Good morning, Quaxo, Etcetera," he called, nodding his head to each of them. "I don't mean to impose, but I wonder if you might be able to give me some help this morning..."
He kept a content smile on his face, to mask the worry he was feeling. Of course he trusted Quaxo and Etcetera, but this information wasn't to be spread around.
CASSIUS
It was a few long moments before Cassius bid adieu to Charlotte, teasing her by saying he couldn't very well let her have him all to herself all day. It was true, after all... what would the rest of the tribe do if he didn't spread his superior self around a bit? There was also the small issue that he'd not secured a date for the ball yet... but he had no doubts that Callista was waiting for his invitation, so what was the rush? Wasn't it the waiting and anticipation that was most fun anyway?
As he walked, he spotted a particular beauty, who happened to literally be spotted. A wide grin spread across his face as he approached his sister. It was really unfortunate, he thought, that the Jellicles had the rules they did... that one could take a mate that shared a father, but not a mother. Not that Cassius had any of those< feelings toward Caoimhe. No, she was very much his little sister... but it was hard to argue that they wouldn't make the most gorgeous kittens in the yard. Yes, sometimes Cassius was too full of himself... well, all the time, actually.
"Oh, Cao!" he called, a purr in his voice as he approached his favorite sibling. He stopped in his tracks though, noticing unattractive patches of brown in her fur for the first time. "What in Heavyside's name..." he started, but the words caught in his throat as he saw that his least favorite sibling was with her. All of Victoria's kittens in one neat little group.... but no, the two of them were not neat. Caoimhe and Narcius were dirty.
"Really, Caoimhe," he began, his arrogant tone always most pronounced when around his brother, "I thought mother taught you not to play with trash." His cocky grin curved across his face despite his only semi-faux disgust.
As much as he disliked Narcius, pushing his buttons was perhaps at the top of his list of favorite pastimes.
