Physical Description: Mouriena has a tan base coat, with stripes and patches of silver, black, and rust. She’s similar to a mottled or mackerel tabby. She is a tall queen, perhaps slightly on the plumper or rounder side. Her body has slight curves, but she’s not what you think of as ‘curvy.’ She’s more on the average side in terms of build. Mouriena has an athletic grace though, the way she carries herself. She doesn’t stand out much with her appearance and doesn’t attract that much attention, but she does have an air of confidence about her that is noticeable. Her eyes are brown and serious, framed with long dark lashes. She has black gloves.
Personality: Mouriena is very driven in what she does, always setting out tasks for herself to complete ever day. She doesn’t like taking no for an answer, however she also became aware living on the streets for a while that she can’t flat out refuse things – it can be dangerous – but she has to mix some diplomacy in, give and take and bargain a little. For the majority of her life, she was taken care of completely. Her every need was seen to by either her mother or her human owner. She realized this when she left home and is trying to become independent now, take care of others for a change. This is part of the reason that she wants to have her own tribe. She wants to have minimal help from others and can become very adamant if help is persistently offered. (This makes it slightly difficult for the Jellicles to help her with her tribe. Anna needs help from them – finding a location, figuring out how to run – but beyond that wants nothing more than their friendship. She wants to leave the Junkyard as soon as she can so as not to inconvenience her uncle further.)
Mouriena is not supersensitive to everyone’s feelings. I don’t mean that she blurts out whatever she thinks without stopping to consider, but she doesn’t pick up the more subtle things that go on around her. She’s fairly bright, perhaps not intellectual, but more a problem solver and creative thinker. She has a fear of being alone and a great aversion to death (natural, considering her mother). Both make her panic slightly and cling to the first person she can find.
Like most queens, she does have romantic ‘ambitions.’ She wants to settle down and take a mate (probably sooner rather than later), but it’s not something she actively seeks. She’s open to having a relationship with someone, but feels she has other priorities at the moment and that it’d probably take a backseat for a while, until she gets the tribe sorted out.
Brief History: Throughout her childhood as Mouriena was growing up, she was always told stories. Her mother would tell her tales of her own father, Mourie’s grandfather Old Deuteronomy. Mouriena decided that it was her mother’s way of comforting her for not having a father herself, a sort of way to show that not all fathers were bad. By the time Mouriena was born, her father had already disappeared. Amaryllis was disappointed, having hoped that he would stay and become her mate. She wanted him to help raise his kitten, but she couldn’t bring him back now he was gone. So, she did the best she could as a mother, helped by the human they lived with.
Mouriena loved the stories Amaryllis told. She created a picture in her mind of a father out there somewhere who loved her and wanted to come back and visit, but was too busy being great and kind to others. The father in her imagination was based on the grandfather in her mother’s tales. It became Mouriena’s dream to go see her grandfather (since her mother assured her that her father would be impossible to find). She kept the dream to herself, only telling it to her two closest friends, a pair of twins, a little younger than she was, who lived on their own nearby, recently made street cats.
Nothing particularly exciting happened to Mouriena in her early teenage years. They lived in a small town outside of London. She grew closer to her mother and her friends, perhaps, and fell more in love with the stories she was now so familiar with. Then, the winter she was eighteen her, mother grew ill. For months, Amaryllis was taken to the vet and given treatments. She got weaker and weaker and finally died one night in her sleep. Anna, then nineteen, was grief stricken. She remained with her human for a few more years, but finally decided to leave. There were too many memories of her mother there and she couldn’t cope. She needed to start a new chapter of her life. So, one morning, she got up and left, slipping out the door and down the street to where the twins lived. They stayed together for a while before Mouriena decided what she wanted to do. The idea slowly came to her - seeing all the strays without friends or family - that she wanted to create a group of those friendless cats, all living together. The more she thought about it, the more she liked the idea. She remembered the stories her mother had told her of her grandfather’s tribe and wondered if she could style her group after that.
As she came up with plans for that, Mouriena also began to dream again about finding her grandfather. After a while she realized that the two ideas could go hand and hand. She could go find Deuteronomy and get his help for her tribe as well as getting to know more about him and her family. So, she and the twins went to London. With their help, she began asking around for the ‘Jellicle Junkyard’ that her mother had always told her about. It took a lot longer to track down than she thought, and they ran into Macavity’s tribe first. Finally, they found it. Mouriena and her little band (she and the twins had gathered a few more members on their way) entered the yard and were directed (eventually) to see Munkustrap. After clearing up that he was her uncle, she learned the Old Deuteronomy had passed on to the Heaviside Layer. She asked Munkustrap to help her set up her tribe and arranged to stay in the yard for a little while till things were settled.

Physical Description: Oriental breed (black Oriental shorthair/Blue Point Siamese mix); A long-limbed, thin Oriental short-hair, with black and white moggy markings, very large ears and large, expressive, almond-shaped, emerald green eyes. His body is very elegant, yet muscular and very solid.
Personality: A very intelligent and expressive male, Padlock is extremely social, with an unbreakable bond forged with his twin sister. He is inquisitive, friendly, emotional, demanding and often quite vocal when he needs to be. He also tends to purr very loudly when happy and content.
Brief History: Padlock, along with his sister, once belonged to two old Russian humans, Violetta and Gustav, in a small house that was on the very outskirts of London. During their kittenhood, Padlock became very close to the humans, who had purchased both cats for company when their daughter moved away from home. (Anja, the daughter, disliked cats with immensity and made it quite clear whenever she came to visit her parents.)
When Padlock and his twin turned 13, Violetta was sent to hospital for a bad cough and didn’t come home. A few months later, Gustav became very ill and when Anja was taking care of him, she chased the twins out of the house with a broom, telling her father that they had run away. Gustav died alone in his bed that night, without his beloved companions.
Padlock and his sister, having been house cats practically their whole lives, did not know how to survive on the streets and, whilst getting prepared to sleep in a disused box one night, were chased by a large bull mastiff into an alleyway. Just as they were about to lose hope, Padlock hugging his sister to him trying to comfort her shivering form, his large eyes closed, they heard the dog yelp and scamper away, whimpering.
Opening his eyes, Padlock came face to face with the cat who would be his best non-related friend… Mouriena. Accepting her invitation to join her in the Alley Tribe, Padlock and his sister moved up the ranks, proving their worth and finally coming to be First and Second Lieutenant.
Mouriena lived with the twins for a short while a few years after her mother had passed away and Padlock found himself acting like a brother to her as well, even though there were tiny niggling feelings in his heart that he liked her more than a sister and friend.
When the future leader came to them, talking of making an Alley Cat Tribe, Padlock hopped on the bandwagon and offered to help getting word 'round.
After nabbing up a few other members, the cats set off for the Jellicle Junkyard, getting sidetracked by Macavity first (much to Padlock's displeasure) and once the whole matter of Mouriena being Munkustrap's niece was cleared up, Pad settled down for a short while in the Junkyard.

She is of average weight, for one of her age and has beautiful, expressive yellow-green eyes. Her coat is short but resilient to all kinds of weather and her tail is very long and very fluffy. Named for the ‘M’ on her forehead, Mohini is a little small for her age, as she was the runt of the litter, and has room for growth as time goes by. There is nothing extreme about Mohini, as she will grow into a moderate-sized cat, with medium bone structure. She has a rounded head, with larg, expressive, yellow-green eyes and large ears. Her nose, chin and whiskerpads are broad, giving her face generous expression.
Personality: Mohini is excited by change, adventure and excitement. She is dynamic, visionary and versatile, able to make constructive use of her freedom. She hates being restricted by rules and conventions and tends to be optimistic (sometimes annoyingly so), energetic, intelligent and makes friends very easily. Her mood changes like the wind, however and she can change from her loving self into a rebellious, restless and untidy girl.
Mohini has a strong secret desire for a stable, loving family or community, as this was denied her at a very young age. She also has a strong need to work for her place in the Alley Tribe and to be appreciated for what she brings to the group.
Brief History: Bought from a breeder in Queensland, Australia, by a woman who was looking for a pet for her young daughter, Mohini seemed like the perfect gift for a young girl. But when the box was opened on Christmas day, the little girl had much rathered to spend her time playing with her new Barbie Dolls, than play with a twelve-week old (1 year old in cat years) kitten.
Mohini spent a total of a month with the family, during which time, the family moved to England. After a week of being shunned by the little girl, Mohini was unkindly dumped in a box in an alleyway behind an old, abandoned corner store. Finally finding her way out of the box, Mo stumbled about, trying to find herself food.
After many attempts to join families in the surrounding area, Mo gave up and set her mind to live on the streets, just another stray, fighting off rats to get her next meal. It was a dreary time, trying to avoid the Animal Control and get enough to eat, but one day, she heard whispers that a group of cats had formed, calling themselves the Alley Tribe. Mo wondered what they were like, as she had encountered the Jellicles from time to time, and had gotten off on the wrong paw with some of the Warehousians.
She finally met Mouriena, when the group stayed with the Jellicles for a while. Offering her home as a permanent base (the disused grocery store behind which she had been dumped), Mo accepted the invitation to join the Alley Cats, serving as a scout, as she knew all the best places to search for food, having lived on the streets for so long.
