TBA positions will be announced by Nemi and Msterope after the characters are taken, so that we may take into account their personality
Jellicle Positions
Jellicle Leader (First In Command)
Munkustrap
The position of leader is the highest in the Jellicle Tribe. This position is highly respected and has the power and privilage of choosing one cat a year to go to the Heavyside Layer to start his or her next life. This position almost always follows family lines, since the 'selection' ability is generally hereditary.
Preceded By: Old Deuteronomy
To Be Succeeded By: Munkustrap/Cassandra kitten
Jellicle Protector (Second In Command)
Alonzo
The position of Jellicle Protector is second only to that of a Leader. This step is necessary to become a Leader. The protector (also called Guardian) has the hardest job in the tribe, since he must tend to new arrivals before the Leader does, guard the junkyard, and protect not only the leader, but the tribe. Oftentimes until the Leader's most suited child is of age, the Overseer (below) of the tribe takes the place after the new leader, and over time trains the new 'Protector to Be" until a proper age and responsibility level is reached.
Preceded By: Munkustrap
To Be Succeeded By: Munkustrap/Cassandra kitten (until he becomes leader), followed by Alonzo/Bombalurina kitten
Jellicle Overseer (Third In Command)
George
This position acts as a second hand to the Protector. As Overseer, the cat must spend substantial time guarding the yard and take the place of the guardian when he or she is not present. Once the Guardian takes the place of Leader, the Overseer becomes the Guardian, selecting someone to take is place (not all overseers eventually become Protectors, depending on the age of the Leader's successor)
Preceded By: Alonzo
To Be Succeeded By: Alonzo/Bombalurina kitten (until he becomes Second-in-Command), then George/Rumpleteazer
Gumbie Cat
Electra
The Gumbie Cat is an important position that is filled by a queen of age. It does not necessarily follow any family lines as the 'high three' positions do, but it is usually passed from mother to daughter, or aunt to niece. The Gumbie Cat acts as a nurse and mother to the harmed and orphaned.
Preceded By: Jennyanydots
Will Be Succeeded By: Munkustrap/Demeter kitten (female)
Lillie Cat
Jemima
A Lillie Cat is always busy. It is a position that is kind of like a second hand to the Gumbie Cat, though her duties are not solely as a nurse and motherly figure. The Lillie Cat is in charge of making sure there is order, especially around ball times.
Preceded By: Jellylorum
Will Be Succeeded By: Alonzo/Jemima kitten
Cat About Town
Rum Tum Tugger
This cat is responsible for making sure things in London are as they should be. Whether it be relationships will other cats, humans, or, as Bustopher thought, food, this cat has to keep the tribe updated on the outside world. This position is an official one that is passed down generally from parent to child.
Preceded By: Bustopher Jones
Will Be Succeeded By: Rum Tum Tugger/Cassandra kitten
Railway Cat
Bill Bailey
A position of high responsibility, the Railway Cat is always busy, making sure trains are on time. Often given from father to son or uncle to nephew, this role can only be completed by the most responsible of cats.
Preceded By: Skimbleshanks
Will Be Succeeded By: Bill-Bailey/Exotica kitten
Theatre Cat
Etcetera
The theatre cat is a cat that lives with humans that frequent the theatre. This cat must have a deep love for the theatrical and have a vast knowledge of it. The role of Theatre Cat is not passed down in any specific fashion.
Preceded By: Asparagus (preceded by Gus)
Will Be Succeeded By: Sommer
Curious Cat
Rum Tum Tugger/Bombalurina kitten
This 'unofficial' role has been around for years, and is a source of pride to he or she who earns it. The Curious Cat is a cat who not only causes trouble to other cats and oftentimes humans, but one that is the sun and moon to most of the younger cats. In other words, all of the cats of the opposite gender want him/her, and all the ones of the same sex want to be him/her. This position is filled by a cat with a high opinion of his/herself.
Preceded By: Rum Tum Tugger
Will Be Succeeded By: Her first-born kitten
Glamour Cat
Victoria
The term "Glamour Cat" does not have a negative connotation, as one would think from Grizabella. It is not an 'official' role, but it is very important. The Glamour Cat is a queen that is expected to be a role model to all younger queens. A Glamour Cat does not follow any specific family lines, and will always have good advice to give the younger sort.
Preceded By: Grizabella
Will Be Succeeded By: Caoimhe
The Notorious Duo
Mungojerrie/Demeter kitten and Quaxo/Rumpleteazer kitten
Again, a position with a negative connotation which isn't actually so. The Notorious Duo is a pair that is rarely seen apart and is well known for their actions... whether they be goodly or scandalous. It is usually a pair of siblings, but has, in the past, been simply best friends.
Preceded By: Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer
Will Be Succeeded By: Unknown until the next generation
Magical Cat
Mistoffelees
This position is, again, unofficial, but highly respected. The magician's powers follow down the family line. The Magical Cat is easily noticeable by violet eyes and shimmering fur when performing magic.
Preceded By: Grizabella (Yes, she was a magical cat. Note the sparkles.)
Will Be Succeeded By: Themis
Warehouse Positions
Mystery Cat
Macavity
The Mystery Cat, the Napoleon of Chrime, the Master of Depravity... All are one in the same. The leader of the tribe that lives in the warehouse is called by this name. The Mystery Cat selects one of his kittens, usually the eldest, or the tom, to take his place. However, if this kitten isn't up to par, it is not uncommon for the younger cat or even the queen kitten to become the Mystery Cat.
Preceded By: Unknown
Will Be Succeeded By: Atalo
High Queen
Griddlebone
A position created by Macavity especially for Griddlebone, the High Queen has no real responsibility. Griddlebone, however, makes it her duty to play second-in-command to Macavity, bossing around the tribe members and advising Macavity in his course of action. The title High Queen, however, does denote Griddlebone's seniority in the Tribe, and her position as Macavity's favorite mate.
Preceded By: None
To Be Succeeded By: TBA when Atalo picks his favorite mate
Warehouse Overseer
Demetrius
The Overseer's duty is very simple: keep all of the henchcats and henchrats in line. The Overseer must make sure the minions are properly trained, fed, housed, and hidden from humans. It is also his/her job to punish any henchcat or rat that does not follow Macavity's strict code of conduct.
Preceded By: Unknown
To Be Suceeded By: Unknown until the next generation
Warehouse Captain
Avidan
The Captain serves as a general of sorts of Macavity's vast empire. He helps Macavity plan battles and is the most knowledgable cat in the Warehouse about battle tactics.
Preceded By: Myvradden
To Be Suceeded By: Tom 2/Queen 1 kitten
Spy
Myvradden/Queen 1 kitten
The Warehouse Spy is a plant in the Junkyard, unknown to all of the Jellicles besides the ones that have been involved previously in Warehouse affairs. His/her job is to lie low in the Junkyard, pretending to be a Jellicle, so that information regarding the Jellicle's whereabouts and tactics may be dug up and reported. This job is absoloutly crucial to the Warehouse.
Preceded By: None
To Be Suceeded By: Unknown until the next generation
